What rims would look good on my 2001 Xterra?
Hi,
I've recently bought a 2001 xterra...I'm looking to upgrade my rims, they are original.
I would prefer steel rims, black.
My tires are Goodyear wrangler's 31" 10.5 15"...I'm wanting a wider rim.
I have a 2" suspension lift as well.
Can anyone suggest what would look on my buggy:)
I've been looking at Pro Comp 51 steel rims on line but not sure what I would need....confused with the lingo...off set and back space..not sure what would fit?
Any help would be great..I'm all ears:)
Thanks, Bob

15x8 Cragar Soft 8s. 4" or 3.75" backspacing. With 6x5.5 bolt pattern.

I don't think you need wider, but that's up to you. You really only need wider if you're going with a larger tire that is wider.
The Nismo rims are beautiful, but rare as heck. I've got Frontier Desert Runners powdercoated in black waiting to go on my in spring on 33" tires. They're stock, so stock offset, and width is what, 7" side OEM? They're farily rare, but can be had for a good deal if you look hard enough.
I've also seen a set of Rays on an X, and they looked great.

Nd4SpdSe,
Their really nice looking rims:)
Just to nice for where I'm taking this girl:)
I have access to a set if I want them....
But the steel Pro Comps are what I want to go with....I wish I could see a couple of photo's of a set of pro comp 51's or 97's on a older xterra...it would give me a idea on what to look for.
I don't understand the back space or off set numbers and what they mean....

True, that's why I've got a few sparesWhimpster wrote: Their really nice looking rims:)

Not powdercoated yet of course, and a few are going on the trailer eventually

Offset is how much the rim is forward of back from the center of the rim. Backspacing is how much back it is from the front of the rim. Technically the same thing, but offset measures from the center, where center is 0, Backspacing measures from the front, but you also need to know the width of your rims
To understand, you need to first find out what your offset on your stock rims. In our case, it's 40mm. Anything more than +40 means it sticks out more
