Dealer replaced tow mirrors and door lock switch. Items that didn't work when I picked it up. Sales made the commitment at the time and followed through when service told them both mirrors needed to be replaced, at >$800 a piece.

02 Sensor was also replaced, new parts warranty for the sensor installed in February.

The Dealership is earning my respect and thanks.

^ Glad to hear.

Got my rig and my wife's rig interior cleaned on the weekend, as well as brake service on mine. Mine will need new front brakes soon and her rig needs an exhaust fix. Always something....

Yep, always something.

Ordered parts to repair the air conditioner. New condenser and drier...I would not spend the money on this but if this weather is a sign of what is to come, I'll need it!

Did an alignment using the tried and true string method. Truck a little more centred on the road. Was getting pretty funky there after a winter of ice and crap it drove through on our lovely side roads. Not that they are roads. More like light trails with wash boarding.

Decided that I don't want to chance getting pulled over this year with all the safety blitzes I'm reading in all the truck groups, so I started fabricating a solution that will help keep my truck "legal" for the road.

Crawled underneath to find brake fluid dripping from a connection. New bits are on the way.

At least it was caught before the line went. The truck was down for a couple of days but it is fixed now.

This is why I don't drive mine in the winter anymore. Our roads ruin our vehicles so fast.

They are using some new chemical formulas on the road the last few years and it seems they eat copper. I lost all four lines the previous winter.

Especially when beat juice is supposedly just as effective and doesn't cause corrosion.

Time for an experiment? I have only had to replace one brake line on mine but it let go in the worst possible place downtown, and I had to nurse it to somewhere safe with only the reserve brake fluid.

Last weekend I did the timing belt/tensioner/thermostat/water pump on the truck. This weekend I'm painting the rockers, installing skid plates, and wiring up my roof lights. :D

Replaced the instrument cluster...it's so much more enjoyable driving when you don't need a GPS for speed, or need to fill up randomly because you have no clue how much gas you have.

Yeah. My mechanic buddy told me that he had never seen so many vehicles in one year come in with brake lines that just suddenly burst on all corners.

Sounds like a great time to bring in new safety standards.

Subaru has a few recalls out to rust-proof or replace brake lines...the 05 got a new set of lines throughout the car. I am not sure if the 11 will need the same with its recall. The recall was for inadequate rust-proofing of the lines.

Is it not a calcium chloride solution they are spraying the roads with or some thing nastier?

General cleaning...cleaned out frame (not much dirt in there), cleaned the door jambs (how do they get so dirty?), sprayed some rust-preventative products around, got the basket painted and up on the roof, and then painted some bare spots...looking better!

New rear leafs should arrive for next weekend (fingers crossed).

Now to figure out mounting the lights but I need to rotate the tires first and service the brakes
