Both front and rears with disk and drum replacement?

I just did the rears before AW and the fronts last fall. Hopefully the drum isn't rust-welded on like mine (using two bolts helps to push the drum off).

2005+ are disc all around with a drum built into the rear rotor for the parking brake shoes. This is the second time I'm doing them so I have a little practice.

When did you do the brakes last? Just curious cause I thought you did them not too long ago. Maybe it is just gunk in them?

So how did it go?

Ron, if that question was directed at me, I did them about 13 months ago and no it's not just gunk, the rears were metal to metal which required me to have to replace the rotors as well. The fronts have just about had it also so I may do them as well. I have the parts but haven't taken the wheels off to see how far they've actually gone.

It rears went great. I took my time because I'm anal about cleaning all the parts that were going back in. I also did the parking brake shoes.

Yes, I am talking to you :p

I'm the same way about cleaning parts up before reinstalling. Must be a truck thing

Well, the brakes have been serviced, both front and rear, AGAIN, just over a year from their last service. The front needed servicing as well, the wear indicator was a hair away from starting to scrape against the rotor. Started this morning in the rain and got soaked and when I was almost done the sun came out. :irked:

Thanks for the offer Ron. Once I've shifted a few things around in the garage I'll be able to do that also. Now that my brother's old VW is gone I have plenty of room I just have to re-arrange a few things to be able to work on the truck in the garage. Of course, I'll have to remove the roof basket to do it though. :(
