Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Trucks been working a moving some metal around using a friends 14ft enclosed trailer. It's a project for them, so makes sense to have access to their trailer.
I also just found out this week that Auxito makes switch back white/amber fog light bulbs. I don't like amber fog lights, but in the winter there are times I would to of liked to of had them. The X had a yellow overlay on my lower 20" light bar and used it as such. I'll be dropping lumens, going from 6000 to 4000 with these lights, but I'm curiously excited to see how they work, especially since winter is here (had been for a few weeks in Quebec City anyway). I couldn't find them on their site nor Amazon as they're brand new, and ordered from Aliexpress.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Got winter tires on the X and the all-seasons on the ZR2. While changing the tires on the X, noticed that both rear sway bar end links were notably bent and one was broken in two. Easy swap for two new ones, just need to watch and see if there is any repeat action on that bending. Serviced the brakes.... Xterra needs new ebrake shoes too. Always something.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Discovered I've got a dead battery in the X... Put a tender on it and hopefully the optima isn't cooked after only 4.5 years.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
How dead? A tender may not bring it around. If really dead it may need to hook with a 2nd battery to charge.

I figured out how to "Jump Start" one of the smart battery chargers into charging an extremely dead battery

Just dead enough where it can’t roll the motor over fast enough for it to catch. Usually down near 10V on the gauge.Bow_Tied wrote:How dead? A tender may not bring it around. If really dead it may need to hook with a 2nd battery to charge.

Got a call at midnight last night about a car accident at my parents... Girl flew off the road, through the ditch, and of course of ALL the vehicles in the driveway I would rather have been hit...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
I have a friend's friend, who I'm friends with, who works with large scale battery backup systems, and sold me a few of his old batteries, says that AGM batteries don't like to be slow charged. Rule of thumb is 1A of charge for every 10aH of the batteries capacity. After a deep discharge it's best to charge them hard.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
True but if the battery voltage is lower than what some of the so called "Smart" chargers consider a dead but good battery there are way's around itNd4SpdSe wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 3:04 pmI have a friend's friend, who I'm friends with, who works with large scale battery backup systems, and sold me a few of his old batteries, says that AGM batteries don't like to be slow charged. Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Got my money for the pathfinder. After it's fixed I'm going to start driving it more... I parked it to save it from the salt and wear, look what it got me. May as well enjoy it.
