No problems with SONTT, we get along with most as long as IT'S NOT another GM ... one is more then enough :stickwack:

I don't think I had ever noticed a Delica before. If I had seen one, I didn't know what it was.

Anyways, I was reading through this thread yesterday afternoon before leaving work, and then quitting time came. Walking through the parking lot on my way out to my car, in drives a Delica!

I thought to myself, what are the chances???

Neat looking vehicle, kind of reminded me of a Pinzgauer a little bit.

I think Holiday_Nation was talking about them way back when. He was talking about going the expedition route with a Delica or AWD Astro/Safari.

That must've been an L300? I actually like the look of those a lot. They just aren't as powerful as the L400's though. Both are awesome as campers, I've seen a couple on the forums with pop tops and the kitchen set up from a westfalia inside. I'm in the process of building a proper sleeping platform for mine! I'm very tempted by an ARB awning...

I think someone has a Roof Top Tent (RTT) with awning for sale. Check the F/S Thread.

I just noticed you have a low roof delica. Perfect for a rtt! Picked one up from andy from langley, bc. Best bang fpr your buck and arguably better than an arb. For what you get , you can't go wrong with this setup. I actually did my searches on he delica forum and evryone had great reviews.

Tell him romey sent you. I can show you it but ill have to bring the land cruiser.

I've got a high roof actually, I think? If it isn't the high roofs must be huge! I was thinking about a RTT but I think I'd rather set up the inside as a camper. For now anyways. Saves the roof for a canoe! Actually, speaking of roofs. I'm going to sell my current rack if you or anyone else you know with a deli is interested. Mitsubishi OEM basket. I'm going to get a full safari rack made with a lower profile and rails on the side only.

Yeah for the two of you insside is plenty. Imeant andys awnings not the entire rtt which also comes with complete enclosure with windows.
Do you have a large sunroof in the middle?

How tall are the legs of your rack?

I don't have the crystal light roof. I wish I had a sunroof in the front but I've read a lot about them rusting from the inside out. That awning sounds mighty tempting... The legs on the rack must be at least 6" high. Mine's a high roof and it fits nicely.

First time ive heard about that. I know they can be problematic when driving at highway speed because of angle so I close mine before. I think you jave a low roof. My thule gutter mounts are 12" to clear. I asked cuz some of the low roofs have alarge square sunroof in the middle. The high roof can have the 5 windows or not like in the chamonix or jasper edition. We have the super exceed with captains chairs in middle. Ill guess you have the bench on the 2nd row? 8 seater? Guys buy the low roof if they need underground parking. Ours is 7 ft tall! Driver seat sits higher than our landcruiser.

Mine was probably the last one off the assembly line before they went to the gen2. Manufactured Dec '96. It's a gen 2 in a gen 1 body. I have high roof, factory side steps, captains chairs and digital climate control, chrome trim and it looks like there was the fake wood on the inside at one point but only one piece is left. You can tell where the gps was too. But no ESC or sunroof of any sort.

i stand corrected. i think the roof rack and the darker colour threw me off. definitely a high roof! the fake wood could be an aftermarket trim thing, my cruiser has it. i know in all my searched on delica.ca, there have been some interesting combos in trim. do you have the jasper or chamonix then? i thought those/with no crystal light roof all had bench seats that can swivel. got any interior pics?! i guess you'rs has vents on the ceiling? all the one's with 2nd row captains i've seen have either been super exceeds or royal exceeds/long wheel base. anyway, fun chat. i'm sure we'll run into each other soon.
cheers.

Saw one of these at work today[Hospital]. Good lift on it and mud tires. Roof rack big enough for me to have a nap in. Yes,I was tempted.

What colour, Gary? There are a few RHD trucks in town. I know of a Pajero that is at one business over from my work and I've seen another that is lifted/tires...Plus I have seen a LC or two... (not to mention a guy I work with has a sweet Skyline)

All these sightings!!! I've only ever seen two Delica's since I've moved here. A few pajeros and LC's here and there.

It's actually just a base Exceed. Whoever ordered it just ticked a couple random options though. Maybe because it's such a late '96? Not sure. I'll try and get some pics up, and come out to a coffee night one of these days!!!
