Camping equipment

Post by Rev »

Now that it is January I can't wait for the next camping season already. So what is your favorite camping gear? Any special tools or gear that you can't live without? Let's hear about it (or show us!).

My MSR Dragonfly stoves. They're hot and fast but completely adjustable flame as well. The noise is the only thing I don't like. They're nicknamed "The rocket" by many. Not a wonder.

Oh I overpack, even when camping by myself  I'm packed to be self-sufficent with a stove, BBQ, more than enough food, cooking utensils and equipement. Axe and hatchet. A cooler for cold stuff, a large tupperware for the dry stuff.

My favorite :happydance:
Image
Not sure if I can compare it to Nige's setup, looks quite cozy, seriously! And a quick and easy setup/takedown too!

I'm really looking forward to camping this year :) I want to get a BBQ/stove combo this year, rather than bring both the seperate BBQ and Stove...that's all I would need for 1-2 people.

A sleeping bag to go in my sleeping bag, and a hoodie and an extra pair of pants. It is always cold when I camp for some reason.

My favorite non-typical camping item is a fertilizer sprayer. The gallon+ container with a rubber hose sprayer and pump. We use it for anything from washing up in the morning, to doing dishes, or cooling down in the hot sun. Because of the sprayer, you use minimal water while getting descent pressure.

Tarps and rope come in handy in case the weather turns.

I bring everything that I can think of and fit in the truck. My favorite was a shade canopy and solar garden lights. Look at last year's AW weekend pics for my campsite. Next year will be better but I am going to have to bring a trailer to haul it all

Looks like I'll have to change strategies if I come to AW this year. That's exactly what I normally bring. Maybe I'll switch to Schooner or OV.

I have a buddy that used to do the same thing at parties. 50 or OV, and he'd be the only one. He always knew if someone stole a beer. Funny thing is, he hated the stuff.

and :rotfl: at your avatar! Well done!

Hmm... I bet that would be handy for a muddy rad on an overheating truck too. :ugeek:
