When the production time is doubled, I can picture Rod leading the CNTC convoy to Georgia, hahaha... That's where they are based, no?

01R50, are you going to order the front or rear bumper or both?

Both a front and a rear bumper.

01R50: Did you ever end up ordering the KMA bumpers? How did things progress?

I'm interested to hear your findings. Bow_Tied and I were chatting about mocking something up and making it ourselves, but at the base bumper price, it might be worth looking into further...

Alain ended up making his own custom rear bumper for his truck. He has a build thread here where he posted all the pics, but unfortunately none of them are working anymore.

If I'm not mistaken, he's still running the stock front bumper.

Actually, he's built a front bumper too, he has it all up on NPORA.

interesting.. kenmtn.com doesn't forward to that new site, but it's definatly all kenmtn's pictures and product.. Wonder if they're trying to turn over a new leaf by starting under a new business name. Great product, poor production time.

EDIT:

actually, looks like there's more than one URL to their sites now.. I found this one that still works, and is a mirror image of the kenmtn site, but now has the TAG information on it.

DOUBLE EDIT:

My truck's on their site! lol

Thanks for the update - been scouring the forum for various ideas, didn't see that one yet.

Awesome, I'll look for that over there - is he 01R50 on NPORA as well?

Here's the thread: http://npora.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=25920" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It's closer to the end of the 15 pages.

As the others stated, I built my own front and rear bumpers. Was cheaper and I got it pretty much exactly the way I wanted. I looked at the KMA and ARB bumpers for a while but the main problem I could see was the approach and departure angles were not as good as I wanted. The KMA bumper looks nice and heavy duty, but it looks to take up the exact same placement as the original bumpers. I have scraped my original bumpers many, many times on the trail and wanted something higher.

Here is my new rear:

And the new front (first pic is before I installed the clevis hooks and grill bar):

You can sort of see both in this pic:

As you can see, I have massive clearance in the front and rear now (compared to before), give me a much better approach and departure angle. Only thing I might cause damage to is my tail pipe, but that is easy enough to fix. I have actually been thinking of making it come out of the side of the truck so that I wouldn't have that problem. Will see.

lookin good!

FYI, if it matters to you, for DOT (incase you get harassed for any reason) the tail pipe must exit behind the passenger compartment of the vehicle. Technically, only pickup trucks can leagally dump the exhaust out the side of the body as long as it's behind the passenger compartment.
