Re: Welcome -- How did you find us??
Hey,
I was referred to this club by Dave from National 4WD Burlington (Not sure if you guys know him).
This was in December 2008 when I needed to replace my all season tires. I became interested in mudtires (due to its looks) and the idea of offroading came to my mind. So having purchased a set of mudtires from that shop, I told Dave that I am a newbie with a stock pathfinder and I have never been offroading before. I have no mechanical skill whatsoever, but I would like to learn and try to go offroading for the first time in summer. He gave me CNTC card and told me that the people in this club are looking after each other really well. And that if I want to wheel in the weekend and use my truck for work the next day - I will be able to do that too.
Also, I came across this guy from Montreal (Chris) on facebook by chance. I was asking him about suspension lifts, mud tires, and skid plates. He asked me to visit http://www.canadianpathy.com/welcome.htm and www.cntc.ca.
It took me a month to consider if I should join the club yet or not. But I thought that longer I delay, the less likely I will sign up for it. So I signed up yesterday at midnight.
Andrew

Re: Welcome -- How did you find us??
my buddy (Bush pig, also a new member) told me about the site, he's got an Xterra and i've got a landcruiser. was lurking at first and had my buddy post up the ad for my blue 89 2 door pathy (now Keiths), lurked some more, and thought it was a great forum with nice peeps (and also noticed some non nissan members, like there's only 2 yotas here? a yellow FJ and a 2nd gen 'runner...? we're now 3 strong ) and yes, i do miss the 89 2 door (and in hindsight, shoulda tried some action with that rig! which was my 1st 4x4, now i'm hooked)
. . . anyway, got Bush pig to sign up for that timmies meet last week at Princess auto, and i showed in my 'yota, chatted with the crew, felt very welcome, and we had an awesome time. figured the guys were cool havin a yota around, so cool, more guys to wheel with...and the rest is history. definitely keepin an eye on the runs, cuz that's all i wanna do, is get out as much as i can....
great forum!
cheers.

Re: Welcome -- How did you find us??
(Pardon the length, I needed a break from work for a few minutes while still looking busy! )
Sherri and I had just got married when we traded in her 1993 Chrysler LeBaron Convertible. We were looking for a long term vehicle that could also accomodate children when the time comes. We were actually looking at buying a Ford Escape 4x4 when we saw the Xterra on the Ford dealership lot. We took the Escape for a test drive and felt it rode like a glorified minivan. We then took the Xterra for a test drive and immediately fell in love with it. I've always been a fan of the Xterra .. mainly because what other car comes with a First Aid kit!!!
We are currently actively involved with a provincial car club called the J-Body Club of Ontario (AKA: JCO). We are both part of the Exec team and are responsible for the member's down in our region of Ontario - Windsor/Essex County & Chatham/Kent also known as JCO South. We figured if there was a car club for the Pontiac Sunfire, Pontiac Sunbird and Chevy Cavalier owners then there had to be club or team for Nissan trucks in the province somewhere. We are part of the Windsor 4x4 which used to be the now defunct Windsor Jeep Club but they are unaware of any Nissan Truck club (Mind you - they are predominately Jeep owners so they need not concern themselves with Nissan's apparently! LOL). I came across the SOXC, hit a link a little while ago but then I couldn't find anything more about it.
Only when I was asking questions on ClubXterra.org when we snapped our rear sway bar and our power steering pump started leaking did I come across the link for CNTC. I think it was in someone signature. That's when I kept my eye on this site and we decided the best way to get to know many of you would be to attend the Adventure Weekend. Our (actually "my") only regret was not taking advantage of the entire weekend and only showing up from Saturday evening till Monday!

Re: Welcome -- How did you find us??
Good day to alll!!!![/b
I am looking forward to learning lots from everyone with CNTC. I herd of the club through a good friend of mine who works at Mr. Lube. I own a 2000 Nissan Xterra BLK 4WD. Looking to do lots to it and looking forward to meets and getting to know others who love Nissan!! This is very exciting to me since my Xterra will be the only car I own 4WD.
Anyone else live in the Kitchener area?? If so would be great to meet sometime and ask you of great tips and things I can do to my Nissan Xterra.
Do Keep in touch!!! look forward to hearing from everyone!!
