Nice.
Put the skids back on the X. What a royal pain in the ass. I need to design new ones.
Also changed the oil and finished the install of a 4/7 pin trailer connecter in bumper to get rid of the OE one that is mounted in the trailer hitch which has been busted off by rocks a couple times.

That is really a piss poor design choice, they should have drilled the bumper at the dealer for that or the factory. I imagine even a mainly street driven truck would damage it at some point.Bow_Tied wrote:Nice.

Did the rear brakes on the X tonight. Went well, surprisingly, however the ebrake doesn't grab like it did before I didn't touch the ebrake adjustment. Weird.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
I helped Phil with those before, should just be able to adjust the star wheel behind the rotor? I think we just did it 3-4 clicks at a time until it grabbed better. Also perhaps the shoes need to bed into the rotor.
How are the front brakes?
Ordered parts for mine today... Knock sensor, upper intake gasket set and leaf spring bushings.

Add starter to the list... Took almost 30 tries before it rolled over trying to leave work today.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
After a full weekend of mounting an atenna, running the coax from rear to front, and mounting the kit, I got the final touches on a new CB install for the Colorado complete. Excited to try it out on the road. This CB has a lot of features I don't yet understand. Might need Big Red's help.

Nice. What model did you go with?
Ordered the correct leaf spring bushings today with the help of Morpheus.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Stryker SR-25MC. Very compact, top view is barely bigger than an iphone, so this allowed me to install it in the cubby ahead of the shifter. The antenna I got is neat - it has two thumbwheels integrated into the bottom of the antenna that are used to dial in the SWR. Had it tuned at Lazer, SWR is 1.15Adam wrote:Nice. Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Damn that's a great looking unit. Been meaning to look at something to install below the radio cubby.
That's what I was going to purchase but could be a tight fit.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
I like the unit I purchased. But it has some drawbacks: it’s expensive, the channel up down buttons are on the top of the microphone, and it has no PA function. It does have some HAM functions, but I don’t know how to use them. Also, the microphone jack is not typical, it is an RJ 45.
The channel up down buttons on the mic Could become a positive if I could get used to it. Aside benefit is that it will also control the squelch up and down, and other menu functions.

I think you also need a license to use the HAM function.
I like the look of it and the size is an important factor since finding a place that doesn’t stick out on the gen 1 is kind of hard. I don’t like where the one is now, passengers hit their legs on it.

Same issue in our X, the standard size uniden works well enough, and will work better when I rejig the antenna set-up. But it doesnt fit anywhere well.Adam wrote:I like the look of it and the size is an important factor since finding a place that doesn’t stick out on the gen 1 is kind of hard. Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Yeah, I'm hoping since I have a single DIN radio now, that the new cb can just mount under there where that semi useless pocket is.

Hahaha
I got the bearcat 880 cb for my birthday. So now I have to figure out mounting it in the DIN spot below the radio.

Will you be able to hear its speaker in that spot? Or do you plan to run a separate speaker?
