kiwi nissan driver new to ontario

Post by coddy001 »

Just a quick hello to everyone.
My name is Bryce im a mechanic from new Zealand who has been living in Canada for a couple of years now,
my vehicle is a 2001 Nissan xterra with a few mods, its slowly getting to where I want it.
Ive had some off roading experience back home in NZ, Ive owned a Toyota fourrunner and currently have a landrover sitting in a barn for use when im back on holiday.
Im looking for trails and places to explore in the central Ontario area.

Hello and welcome. Lots of trails and places to explore right here in Ontario. Check the events section or if its doable pop on out to a coffee meet.

We have been going back and forth between Nz and Canada for the past 5 years, it's hard to get money and have a normal life when you move every year, so we have decided to stay here for a while. I can't wait to get out driving and exploring the country

I'm a mechanic I've taken the summer off. I will look for a job maybe next month I will be based somewhere in central ontario, cobourg,Peterborough, Belleville? Will see what works around when it cools off.
I've seen abit of Canada mainly from the highways and city's, did a big east coast trip a couple of years back, what I really want is to go where most people don't go, I went up to mooseonee and James bay for a few days last month

Welcome to Canada and to CNTC.

If you're free the Labour Day weekend I can't think of a better way to spend it than with us at our annual Adventure Weekend outing. You'll get to know a few trails within a short driving distance of where you plan to settle down and, best of all, you get to spend the weekend with the likes of us! :teeth:
Watch it! I'm keeping my eye on you.

Welcome eh! (Do we really say "Eh" that much, or is it just an advertizing/exaggeration thing?)

I saw your photos in the other post - it looks like CAN and NZ have lots of the same landforms. We just have to drive a LOT farther to get the variety. I have relatives there and I hope to visit one day, but as you can attest, there's always something competing for the time and the money it takes to travel that far/long.
