Hello from New Brunswick

Post by WayneO »

Hi everyone,

New member... and new to the Nissan family. Just traded in my 2006 Toyota 4Runner Limited for a 2010 Nissan Titan Pro-4x CrewCab 4x4 with the Big Tow package... its Blizzard white with black leather interior and sunroof.

I just found the Titan website "Club Titan" and in the forum was a canadian section and a post by Canadian Miner linking this website... so I decided to join up with my Canadian brothern. Not sure how many, if any, fellow NB'ers are on here but looking forward to reading up on the forums and meeting everyone (if only in cyberspace :) ).

Have already ordered some accessories; Bilstein 5100 shocks for all 4-corners, hood protector, window shades, NFab nerf side steps and a toneau cover, which I hope to have installed over the next few weeks. And loving the truck more and more each day.

Cheers,
Wayne

Welcome, glad you found your way here. I vaguely remember posting the link up on Club Titan (CT). The most active Titan forum is Titan Talk (TT), you may want to join there as well however I find that board to be a decent reference but not the "atmosphere" I like to participate in.

I think you're the forth and newest Titan owner here. You'll see post here, and on CT and TT, from NismoJunky (06), LookZcustoms (06), Pete (05?) and myself (05). There are also a couple of Frontiers and Xterras around with Titan suspension and axle upgrades.

As for New Brunswick I think there's a couple of members out there. Maybe enough for a small coffee meet.

PRG Extended Travel, or Performance, Lift: UCAs, Sway-A-Way struts and shocks, Deaver C-30 rear spring packs, and PRG Shackles. I've added Timbrens and Rough Country Traction Bars As well. The truck sits ~3.5" higher than stock.

Which wheels and tires? The current sets are LE 18" with BFG ATs, and the original Off Road 17" with Goodyear Duratracs. In my older pics you'll find XE 17" steelies with Super Swamper LTBs.

Those were the 34x10.50x17 LTBs, in that image a blacked out the rims.

I'll dig up an un-doctored image of the XE steel wheels painted.

Note - the larger front brakes on the 08+ Titans require 18" wheels to clear the calipers.

Those LTB's are wicked. I currently have LT275/75-18's but for now I'm just leveling my rig out with Bilstein 5100's (in the next week or so)... and possibly looking at a lift in the future. With the 5100's someone told me I should be able to fit 33x12.5-18's on it without any contact or rubbing so will be considering that as well as adding blacked out wheels (though probably not full black). I'd kinda like a more agressive tread, but as much as I like those LTB's they are probably a bit too agressive for my usage.

The LTB's are too aggressive for anything but trail use, and on top of that they're bias ply tires (not radials). On the trail they were awesome but they were not a liveable tire, and winter use was out of the question.

My ATs are 305/65R18 on LE rims. I believe they measure 34"x12" and to me they are the perfect size for the Titan. They're big enough to be a visual upgrade for the truck but they clear nicely on a levelled truck.

Oh excellent.. great info, thx. That is the size I'll look at as well then for next summer... will keep these Michelin LTX-M/S2's on the existing OEM rims for the winter. And looking to get another set of either OEM rims or some blacked-out rims with the 305/65R18's. Maybe rims something like this... http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bic6lOqIBMo/T ... wheels.jpg

I wonder what OEM wheels would look like blacked out except for the center cap? Will have to look at tire options also... I think the BFG AT's look pretty nice how do you like those, and how do they compare to the Duratracs?

Getting my new shocks put on next Thursday (17th).

PS - I can't see the pics you posted from work (blocked by our web security) - so will check them out at home tonight.

Google "titan wheel plasti dip", you can always peel it off if you don't like them.

The BFG A/T KO is a far superior tire to the GY Duratrac. However the Duratrac offers more traction off-road, and a more aggressive appearance.

Welcome, nice looking truck. The titan looks great in white.

Don't get the duratracs. They don't balance well and you'll be dealing with the shakes.
