Piano string twang
Can't think of anything else to call it. While under power, when I turn the steering wheel I hear what sounds like someone plucking on a piano string. Took it in to the dealer today and there is a bulletin from Nissan on replacing the radiator fan clutch assembly and serpentine belt tensioner. $500.
Haven't done it yet as the parts weren't in but a heads up.

Re: Piano string twang
Not more like a guitar string twang? a high or low note?
Are you moving forward when turning the wheel and hearing the twang or just by turning the steering wheel? If the later I would not think that the strut bearing would make the noise. In either case I am not sure why the tensioner and fan clutch would twang when steering.
Is the belt tight enough and fan spinning as it should?
Take a look at the TSB and see if it gives a reason for the noise

Re: Piano string twang
The only time the TSB for the belt and auto tensioner fixed anything I saw, it was a chirping from the belt at idle. Not while turning.
