Rear springs

Post by Snafu »

I couldn't find my old thread back on the ntc site. I did find some info from the old site and thought someone could use this for reference.

First Thread
Gilbert wrote: I would suggest P&J spring in Brampton. Peter can re-arch, add a leaf or nake you a whole new leaf pack. Other members here have used him and have nothing but good things to say about his work and his prices.

For the price you would pay to buy an aftermarket AAL kit and have it installed, Peter can make you a whole new set of springs.
x2000 wrote:I went to markham springs for my lift a few weeks ago, email me for the # if you are interested. Markham Spring is next to the Markville Mall. this man(Dave) is fast and cheap.
Morpheus wrote: When I had my Jimmy (same rear suspension setup) I just had our local spring shop slide another leaf in the middle of the pack, and it worked like a charm. If memory serves, I think it was only around $100-200 bucks (but that was a few years ago)
JayZ wrote: i had an extra leaf added for my bottoming out issue on the next gen xterras. i went to canada suspension specialists in mississauga (dixie/britannia). great guys to deal with. $125 installed for each spring. now it drives like it is supposed to and no bottoming out (especially when towing).
rossmtbiker wrote: Hey Jayman, I got mine done at TDL in Carp. I think Malmberg may do it as well.
Chippy wrote: It cost me $240 for the 3 leafs installed, while I waited.
Second Thread
big bird wrote: I payed $200 bucks for the replacement of one leaf per side plus an addon leaf per side.
try transit spring on martin grove and rexdale they did mine and the would have done an add a leaf both sides & replace broken one for 300.00(i think) it was only 125 or 150 for the replacement of the broken one. fast too
Bamboozled wrote: I'm in Kitchener, so I really dont want to go to far. I phoned P&J, $300.00, good price.
rush356 wrote:I paid 325.00 at hardick spring shop to replace 2 main leaf springs on my old jimmy 3-4 years back. Dealer asked 600.00 a side. http://www.canpages.ca/page/ON/north-yo ... 58856.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Morpheus wrote: The OEM replacement spring is club price about $215 each side plus about $135 labour.

It comes as a complete spring pack, so it doesn't matter if any other ones are broken or not.
Bamboozled wrote: Well, Maybe an update is in order. $450.00 ish is what I paid. 1 broken spring turned into 3 or 4 when they took it apart. So they ended up putting 6 new leafs in. It rides like a dream now.
Feel free to update with any new sources, prices or other info :thumbup:
