Hey Guys!
Hey guys!
Just thought I'd check in and introduce myself.
I live in Toronto with my 2 dogs.
We love to drive into isolated area's to go camping/hiking/backpack hunting. We will be moving back to BC within the next couple years and before then we're trying to build an overland expedition rig. Just got started really. We have a RHD 1991 Nissan Terrano Turbo R3M TD27T with Automatic Transmission and 105,000km.
So far we have installed a 3" AC body lift with 31" Mickey Thompson MTZ tires on Toyota 4Runner lego rims, we've added a K&N air filter and transmission cooler and we've vented our EGR system to the atmosphere using a K&N PCV filter.
We have a ton of projects on the go. I'm trying to get caught up on flushing all the fluids, and i also want to pull my intake manifold and give it a good clean, i think i may have some carbon build up that's being burned off when my engine heats up and i punch the gas. I see some black smoke after the truck warms up. I've vented my EGR system to the atmosphere with a K&N PCV filter, so my engine isnt re-burning the blow-by gases and PCV fumes. It made a huge difference, but i still see some black smoke after she warms up. Eventually I want to add a Oil Catch Can with filter that will seperate the oil from the blow-by gases and PCV fumes and then send the cleaner air back onto my air filter and intake manifold. My mechanic said he had the same problem on his TDI truck, and after he cleaned the carbon build up out the intake manifold it made a big difference. The air/fuel filters are new and clean. My glow chargers all work. And we've added some fuel conditioner to clean up the fuel injectors. So I dont know what else could be causing the black smoke. It is a diesel, and i know most diesels have un-burnt fuel/black smoke coming form the exhaust, but i'm trying to reduce this as much as possible. Thats the only real problem we have.
We're also in the middle of a ton of bolt-on modifications/fixes around the truck. So we may have some questions for you guys here at CNTC.

Re: Hey Guys!
After reading your post in NPORA it was my dealer. One of the mechanics is very abusive verbally, and doesn't think before he speaks. He actually pisses off a lot of people at work. On my behalf I apologize for his retarded behaviour.

Re: Hey Guys!
You got that right. After mentioning it to people at work except the idiot, they all thought so that he was a moron for doing that. If I was the boss I would be able to pick my co-workers.Pezzy wrote:Big Bird wrote:After reading your post in NPORA it was my dealer.
