does anybody know what kind of engine would bolt on to the auto tranny for my frontier other then the 3.3l v6?
im thinking of doing a jdm engine swap, but i cant find any info on the tranny that we use in our trucks

The 2000-on Nissan Frontier with the 3.3L engine uses the FS5R30A Borg Warner manual transmission. This is the same tranny in the Pathfinder, Xterra, and the 300ZX with the v6 engines, both the 3.0 and the 3.3. So I think any of the VG30 or VG33 engines should bolt right on, whether carburated, fuel injected, or even turbo or supercharged.

Auto transmission is the RE401A. You're probably stuck with the VG family of engines, but that's not a big deal. THere's a lot of good power makers there, as BeerGarage said.
If you could shoehorn a 300zx twin turbo motor in there, you'd be my hero. Also, worth considering is building a VG34, using 3.0 block, with 3.3 heads.
