You can pickup a Pre Cleaner at any farm equipment dealer.
There was a time that every tractor had one.

Re: New here from markham with a pathfinder
The one I have is Donaldson. You wanna make sure it has the proper CFM rating. Otherwise you'll starve the engine of air.

Do you have a part number ? Or by chance know what the cfm rating I should be looking for ? Thanks. Gonna look into collecting the parts soon

I haven't looked into this before, but in thinking about the math...Muddyr50 wrote:? Or by chance know what the cfm rating I should be looking for ?
3.3L engine = 3,300cc
3300cc/revolution @ 6,000RPM = 3,300*6,000=19,800,000cc/min
Convert to imperial, 2.54cm/in: 19,800,000 / 2.54^3 = 1,208,270 in^3/min
Convert from in^3 to ft^3: 1,208,270 / 12^3 = 699.2 ft^3/min
So, assuming a 6k redline, you'd need 700cfm, perhaps round it up a little for safety, 750 maybe.
How'd I do?

4 stroke engine - intake, compression, power and exhaust - so the each cylinder is drawing air every other revolution.Bow_Tied wrote:I haven't looked into this before, but in thinking about the math...Muddyr50 wrote:?
How'd I do?
3300 cm^3 * 6000 rev/min / 2 (4-stroke) = 9,900,000 cm^3/min = 349.6 ft^3/min (cfm)
With the same assumptions add a suitable margin to 350 cfm.
Depending on pipe diameter these are the Donaldson part numbers for the 200-450 cfm pre cleaners
