oil pan protection?
Hi, I went out with our club and put a pretty significant dent in my brand new oil pan - enough that it started leaking from the drain plug and I had to leave the trail.
I may have got lucky and I put a half turn on the oil drain plug, which has stopped it leaking...hoping that's all it needed.
So I'm really worried about damaging the oil pan again.
....any suggestions for protection as it seems to find rocks really easily and I keep whacking it - preferably sourced in Canada?
its a 2002 4wd
TIA, Jay

I would start with a skid plate or two. You'll need a forward plate and then another second plate to go behind it - these basically get you covered from the front (where your oil filter is) to about halfway down the transmission. A third plate gets you all the way back to the fuel tank, which then gets you into your fourth plate.
I'm sure guys will chime with where these things can be bought. Start with Google. Might get lucky on some used ones.

The best I've seen are Shrockworks plates. A few of our members have them, and they seem to offer the best protection. They are NOT CHEAP though, and can be sourced through National 4WD in Canada, or through Shrockworks directly in the US.

AC 4x4 has skid Row plates. Good gauge steel. Shipping costs might prove interesting.

Re: oil pan protection?
yeah, thats my problem....also import duty is a killer.
I just got DT headers...$450 + shipping + $150 import duty....importing starts to make things expensive real quick

No duty on items made in USA. If you had shipped via UPS, its brokerage and taxes, not duty.

I always specify ship via USPS. Takes a bit longer, but guaranteed no brokerage fees.
