n00b From Niagara!
Hey. I was told about this site by Lowridah313. I know him as I am and he's a former Mx-3 owner. I picked up a 2003 Xterra SE Supercharged almost 2 months ago. Actually it was when I went to pick up an Mx-3 gearbox from him that I got the idea of getting an Xterra. I had a line on a 96 Pathfinder back in February that fell through but in researching that i did come across alot of Xterra information. My parents have a 2002 AWD Escape that I actually really really like but it's just not what I need in terms of function. I wanted something more rugged that was off-road capable. Seeing Tom's Xterra just put 2 and 2 together for me. I'm glad, it's a great truck, just awesome. Not the best on gas, but it would be something to get used to going from a car to truck regardless. I'm keeping my Mx-3, she's just got what I suspect a damaged valvetrain so having the Xterra as a daily driver, I can do some extra work on the Mx-3 at a relaxed pace.
I've already swapped out the stock 6-disc head unit with a Pioneer 7900 Bluetooth deck, a CB radio and just finished my CarPC installation this afternoon.

When I got the truck I told myself I wouldnt do any mods, but then I installed a cold air intake then replaced it with an in fender snorkel. After that suspension lift, armor, bumpers. It goes on and on and you become more infected with the bug called modicitis. Theres no turning back.

Re: n00b From Niagara!
Hehe. Actually I've been bitten with the mod-bug long before and actually bought this truck with the intention modding it. I found it has alot of potential and quite the slew of aftermarkets parts available. I'm going to take my time an figure out what I need as I go and gain knowledge and experience. In it's stock form I'm so far extremely impressed, but so far on the short list I've figured I want off-road tires and some Shrockworks sliders. Possibly a Shrockworks rear bumper but I've got some reservations about that. One thing I really want to do is have a winch mounted with the stock bumper along with a strong brush guard (rather than the ones available now as they're "damage multipliers" for what I've seen) I think the current winch bumpers are overkill for what I want. I guess I want something that looks as good as a brush guard, but is (or almost) as functional (or at least as strong) as a winch bumper. Hopefully my dad can help me with that. I've got plenty of ideas, but there's no rush right now, and after I get my X setup with the basics of what I need for this year, which after the CarPC I should (and I emphasize on "should") be good. I've got an Mx-3 sitting since November that needs some lovin'.
