Not wondering what the biggest tire you can fit on an xterra
I am wondering if anyone has fit 32" BFG AT KO's under their stock first generation xterra 15" rims without problems beyond plastic trimming.
The geolandar MTs are getting a bit cupped...
Thanks!

I don't think you can on the front. I am running 265/75R16 that physically measure 31" and they just clear with trimming (there was some rubbing on the plastic stone guards at extreme turns). Some say these tires are really 32" but they do measure out at 31".

265/75R16 = 31.6" However, the size varies with manufacturer. That would be the metric conversion though.

I have 31s now and there seems to be quite a bit of space left.
I can get a good deal on a set of 4 but thought I would check here before spending the dough...
Hopefully someone can chime in that has had these mounted up...
Thanks!

Re: Not wondering what the biggest tire you can fit on an xterra
Funny this topic should come up now. I tried a 33" BFG AT yesterday and upon turns it rubs against the metal part of the fender down at the bottom by my slider. I would have had to trim metal as well as plastic to make it work.
I have done a small amount of suspension lift but not full A-arms etc. I believe a 2" body lift would also fix this but I need new tires now and don't have the time and/or the money for the BL now.
As a result I am sticking with new 31's and once this isn't my daily driver and/or I have completed some additional mods I will install the 33's. But man did it look good on there.

Yes they will. You'll need a bit of plastic trimming, but you can get them in there.

Brian, I'm pretty sure that you won't have much of an issue with running 32's.
I had the Toyo Open Country AT's on mine, they were the metric equivalent of 32's, and I had no rubbing at all.
Like Simon said though, you won't really know until you actually get them on the truck, but I doubt you'll have much of a problem.
If they do rub, they won't rub MUCH, and it will only be on the plastics.
I'm running 31's right now, and there's tons of room. Although, I've gone up 3", and I have a 2" BL sitting in my garage waiting to get installed.
Once that goes on, she's getting 33's. MAN I can't wait for that...
